try as I might
Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 1:52AM Just like everybody wishes they could be a better person, I wish I could make myself write with more regularity. And it's not like things are going on worth discussing - in fact, there is plenty to review since the last post way back in January. You already know the highlights if you follow me anywhere else in the social media world, but if you have somehow missed the story, here it is....
Earlier this year we were finally match with a child from Ethiopia. We started the adoption process back in October of 2009, so we we're rightly very excited to finally be match and move a step further. For those familiar with adoption, you know the path is neither straight forward, nor identical to anyone else's. After several more up and down waiting periods we got first a court hearing (and our first trip to Africa) as well as embassy hearing (and second trip). We brought our little girl, Davy Beach, home just 10 days shy of her 8 month birthday and have spent the last three weeks (hard to imagine it's only been 3 weeks) learning about each other and suddenly being a parent.
I'll see about putting down some more thoughts in e coming days, both on her, this process, our nearly month long stay in Africa, and, of course, something about work will likely slip in to (I do still have a job, after all....)
